Before the Blue Jays’ season started, there was a big question mark regarding the no.3-4-5 starters. However, one month in, the no.3 spot has been won by young Henderson Alvarez.

Except for a miss step a month ago, against the Devil Rays, who he is facing tonight, Alvarez has been spectacular. He has a record of 3-2 with a very good ERA of 2.61.

The opposing offence hits for .227 against him. He only has 14K’s in 48.1 inning pitched, but he forces many ground balls, which is always fun for the defence behind him, because it keeps them busy.

He will have a real test in front of him tonight, as he faces Tampa Bay’s ace David Price. Price already has 5 wins this season, and got defeated twice. He also has an ERA under 3 with a 2.98, which is very respectable!
